Magazine Overload

I recently used some airlines miles to subscribe to several of my favorite magazines. And today, I hit the motherload! I received not one, not two, but FIVE of my favorite magazines. Talk about magazine overload!  1. GLAMOUR Can I just say that I have a crush on Sandra Bullock? Surely I’m not alone, right? She “sped” into our hearts and “while you were sleeping”, gave a “two week notice” that she was all about “the proposal.” And while “hope floats”, she charmed us and won “Miss Congeniality.”  Then for “28 days”, she tried to figure out the “divine secrets […]

When I Grow Up…

You can ask my mother about this, but when I was younger, I would always say that I wanted to be the next Barbara Walters. I would pretend I was a television newswoman, staring at my reflection in the microwave oven door, reading the news stories I had written. Then when I was about 16 years old, I began writing. Supermodel. Super Mom. Footballer’s Wife. Victoria’s Secret Model. Actress. Goodwill Ambassador. And she retired at the top of her game. In one word… Gisele. She has been listed as the highest paid model since 2004. In 1998, Gisele was called “the Body” by the great late fashion designer Alexander […]

I had to go from what Chanel was to what it should be.” – Karl Lagerfeld on Coco Chanel Looking at the Fall 2014 Chanel collection, whether it be from the resort collection or the haute couture collection, the details are magnificent. The September Issue

Every year, millions of fashionistas (almost all women, and some men) wait patiently for Vogue magazine’s “September Issue”. This year was no different, with the industry’s “fashion Bible” touting “916 pages of spectacular fall fashion for all”! And of course I was one of those millions who purchased the September issue with a certain level of expectation that there would truly be a wide array of “fall fashion for all”, meaning fall fashion that anyone and everyone could afford. First let me say that the issue didn’t even begin until page 76, which showed the first “table of contents”. Yes, I’m saying […]
