Since I revamped my blog earlier this month, I have been looking at starting a new weekly or monthly series (or two). I have found myself drawn to other bloggers posts about “links they love”, so today, starts the first in a series. My plan for this series – “Links I Love” – is that it will become a monthly series. I hope you find these links as great and interesting as I did! Ever wonder about the bedrooms of those TV characters like Carrie Bradshaw and Serena van der Woodsen? Glamour magazine shares some cools details about these rooms. Daily Dose of Design shares […]
Wanderlust Wednesday: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Later this summer, Rio de Janeiro will be hosting the Summer Olympics. And despite the Zika virus flying around down in Brazil (’cause it’s flying around here in the U.S. as well), Rio de Janeiro is a city full of beauty. I want to walk on the Copacabana Beach, walk up and down the colorful Escadaria Selaron (a stairway decorated by Chilean-born artist Jorge Selaron), and stand at the feet of the famous statue of Christ the Redeemer. “Rio de Janeiro? But it’s not safe!” If you think about it, nowhere is 100% safe, but if take the necessary precautions and travel […]
My 101 Things in 1001 Days List
For the past two hours, I have been perusing Pinterest, clicking on links, and reading blog posts by other bloggers about fashion, beauty rituals, Coachella, as well as watching a few DIY and “how-to” videos. But for the past 30 minutes, I have been reading other blogger’s “101 things in 1001 days lists.” I thought to myself, “What a cool idea!” Who inspired me to do this list? It was two bloggers… first was Kate from Kate The Almost Great, and she pointed me in the direction of Mackenzie Horan at Design Darling, who put together her first list together in 2011. This list, like Mackenzie says, […]
Wanderlust Wednesday: Travel by Train
Most people cannot afford to travel around the world, flying from one location to another, checking your luggage, handing over your passport, and not to mention, sitting in cramped seats on airlines (hello, we can’t all afford private planes) or getting seasick on a cruise. So why not see the world from a different perspective? By TRAIN! Traveling by train can either be inexpensive or luxurious. If you’re open to not having a set itinerary, then traveling by train may be a great way to see the world, including sites in the USA, Europe, India, or China. So why not […]
Wanderlust: Popular Thanksgiving Destinations
A couple of years ago, my husband and I left behind the cold weather of East Tennessee and headed west to warmer weather. We spent Thanksgiving in Las Vegas, Nevada. We had a blast walking around the different casinos, seeing the sights, and eating some great food. We stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, and it was fabulous. So what destinations are popular for Thanksgiving? It depends. You can head somewhere cold and snowy, and enjoy some skiing during the day and drink hot cocoa by the fire at nights. Or you can head somewhere warm, leave behind […]
