There are destinations around the world where people get around by walking, bicycles, and donkeys. There are places where there are no cars, or at least, a place where no cars are allowed. To me, there is an adventure around every corner in these far away locales. Kira Cook hosts a series on PBS, entitled Islands without Cars. This first season of this show highlighted six islands without cars, including the Greek Island of Hydra, Croatia’s Dalmatian Coast, Ireland’s Inis Meain, Italy’s Aeolian Islands, The Channel Island of Sark, and France’s Isle of Porquerolles. Wanderlust Wednesday: My Travel Bucket List, Part 1
Like most people, I have a bucket list full of places, near and far, that I want to see. I’ve even written about some of those places in previous posts, but I wanted to share a few of those beautiful locations again in a special series of “wanderlust Wednesday” posts. I haven’t been all over the world (yet), but I always say that when I hit the lottery, I’m going to do some serious traveling! […]
Wanderlust: Ireland, The Emerald Isle
When you think of Ireland, do you think of four leaf clovers, leprechauns, and overflowing pots of gold? My husband’s a dream vacation is for us to go to Ireland. I have researched this lush green Island for several years now. I feel like I have put together several itineraries for him to choose from, but we have yet to make it to the land of his ancestors. I would love to surprise him one year for his birthday, and whisk away to Ireland. In doing my research, I have put together a list of resources, which I will now […]
