There are times when everyone feels a little low. Times are tough, especially right now, and we, as humans, run the full range of emotions from love to hate, from happiness to sadness, from peace to anxiety, etc. I’m currently in a state of happy anxiety, mixed with a touch of procrastination. “Why?” you ask? Well, I’ll tell you. I am working on a screenplay that I hope to submit to an internationally-known screenwriter’s lab. Twice before I have submitted an entry and twice I’ve been “rejected”, so to speak; however, I am not giving up. Besides, “third time’s a […]
My Week in Pins: Nat’l Bird Feeding Month
Did anyone know that February is National Bird Feeding Month? I sure didn’t. Birds are lovely creatures. Some sing sweet little tunes; some mimic words or phrases; some are little; some are big; some have long beaks; some have short beaks; some have long legs; some have short legs… you see where I’m going with this? For example, we have this beautiful cardinal that visits our house and flaps itself silly against the mirrors of our vehicles parked in the driveway. I have blogged about this beautiful, yet annoying, cardinal before (you can find that post in my archives), and […]
Reflecting on Lent
“Throw me some beads, mister!” The last day of gluttony, debauchery, wild celebrations, and a last hoo-rah for anyone and everyone preparing for the upcoming Lent season is today – “Fat Tuesday”, for tomorrow is Ash Wednesday. As anyone knows who participates in Lent, Ash Wednesday starts the fasting and religious obligations associated with the season of Lent. This year, Lent begins on Wednesday, Feb. 13th, and go until Saturday, March 30th, with Easter Sunday on March 31st. Being from West Texas, I don’t ever recall being familiar with Mardi Gras or “Carnaval”… that is, until I moved to Biloxi, Miss., and was given […]
My Favorite Things: A “Smashing” Idea!
One of my favorite things is reading and re-reading magazines and then pulling pages of interest out of the magazine to re-read a third time. But all those loose magazine pages can get lost or torn, so I decided I need a way to smash all of those pages together! Remember the “Slam Book” in Mean Girls? It’s the book that the “mean girls” plastered photos in, and wrote mean and cruel things about their peers and the teachers. Well, my “smashing” idea is not so much of a “slam book” but a “smash book”. It is a smash of all […]
My Week in Pins – Chanel
As most of you already know, I love Chanel! It is almost an obsession, my love of all things Chanel, but until I hit the lottery, I can only drool and pin things to my Chanel “wish list”. All pins are taken from Pinterest, but the original source is cited. My Luscious Life blog featured this fabulous double “C” logo in what I would imagine is an entry way. This logo would be perfect in any Chanel store. I would love to have this logo in my dream closet in my dream home in Colorado! Photo Source: http://mylusciouslife.com The Saved by […]
