If you were to ask me, “What is your favorite designer label?” I would proclaim, in a sing-songy voice, “Chanel!” In a previous post, I mentioned that I owned a couple of Chanel bags and a wallet. I rarely use them simply because I wouldn’t be able to stand myself if I brought on early “wear and tear” to them. So they sit bagged and boxed up in my closet. I have a couple of vintage Chanel hair accessories, a.k.a. ponytail holders, which I purchased at antique stores. But my most recent Chanel acquisition sent my heart racing. On January 14th, […]
Dress Form Outfit #50
The weather has turned much colder here in East Tennessee. So instead of running around town doing last minute Christmas shopping, I think I’ll just lounge around. And what better to lounge around in than some nice comfy leggings, a soft t-shirt, and a warm sweater. Dress Form Outfit #50, for the week of December 9, 2012 T-Shirt: Affliction, purchased at Buckle; Leggings: Forever 21 Sweater: Allison Brittney, purchased at Goodwill This outfit can be worn around town as well. Just pair it with some cute shiny silver flats. This Affliction shirt was a gift from my husband. It’s kind of […]
Dress Form Outfit #47
This week’s dress form outfit is what I consider to be a “casual work to date night” outfit. I often see in fashion magazines where stylists put together an outfit where every item is under $50. The jeans may be $25, the shirt may be $39, the purse may be $15, etc… However, I would love to see them style an entire outfit for under $50 total – from top to bottom, including accessories. So when I put together my dress form outfits, that is exactly my goal — to put together an inexpensive outfit for less than $50 total! […]
Dress Form Outfit #19
This blue and white striped boat-neck mini dress was a great find at the Goodwill in Kitty Hawk, NC. It is from the GAP and was $4.59! It is so comfortable and I’ve worn it several times since I brought it home a couple of weeks ago! It has three-quarter length sleeves and hits mid-thigh (I’m 5’8″)… kind of short, but it covers my arse well enough and I know how to bend over like a lady. (I don’t bend over. I squat with my knees together – like a lady should!) Have a fabulous “thrifty” week!
