She’s beautiful. She’s smart. She’s worldly. She’s powerful. She’s stylish. And she is the woman married to the handsome George Clooney. She is Amal Alamuddin Clooney, and she is this month’s “Woman of Style”. Her whirlwind romance with world famous bachelor George Clooney sealed her status as the “woman to watch”. She not only captured George’s heart and mind, but the attention of the world. Amal, in her own right, is a powerful and influential person. She is a London-based British-Lebanese lawyer, activist, and author who has worked on several renowned cases, including the Julian Assange case. She is a […]
Woman of Style: Julia Roberts
With her trademark smile, Julia Roberts burst onto the scene as Vivian Ward in Pretty Woman, and she hasn’t looked back. The two films I remember seeing her in before her Pretty Woman fame was Satisfaction (1988) and Mystic Pizza (1988). Julia Roberts once said about her success, “I’m just a girl from a little town in Georgia who had this giant, absurd dream.” (Source: IMDb) She played clarinet in the band in school and after graduating from high school, left Georgia for New York to become an actress. Well, this girl from the little town of Symrna, Georgia, has done some pretty amazing things […]
The Greatest Art Heist in History
“In the end, our society will be defined not only by what we create, but by what we refuse to destroy.” – John C. Sawhill “You can wipe out an entire generation, you can burn their homes to the ground and somehow they’ll still find their way back. That’s what Hitler wants and that’s exactly what we are fighting for.” – Frank Stokes, The Monuments Men BuzzFeed George Clooney and Grant Heslov once again hit it out the ballpark with this movie, based […]
Wanderlust: Italy
Ever since I watched Under The Tuscan Sun, where Diane Lane’s character purchased an Italian villa, I have wanted to vacation in Italy with the hopes of finding my own Tuscan villa to renovate and call my own. In the meantime, my dream of visiting Italy are still alive and well. For me, it would take about a month to fully experience all that Italy has to offer: from the Almalfi Coast to Milan, from Campiania to Venice, and from Rome to the Vatican City. The food. The fashion. The wines. The cheeses. I would definitely love having Giada De […]
The Most Fascinating People of 2013
I have always loved to watch Barbara Walter’s special, “The 10 Most Fascinating People”, eager to see who she and her team have deemed to be “fascinating” that year. Her final special aired on Wednesday, December 18th, and she recapped every fascinating person she interviewed for this yearly special. So in keeping with the long tradition once held by the woman I admire (and wanted to be like), here is my list of fascinating people of 2013. Pope Francis – since his ascension to the highest post in the Catholic Church, Pope Francis has literally touched e loves of hundreds […]
