I used to live in a small town where every house on this one street decorated their houses and yards for Halloween. It was the busiest and best Halloween trick-or-treating any kid or adult could ask for! Whether you’re decorating your house and yard, and handing out treat bags, or if you’re throwing an adults-only Halloween costume party, here are some great Halloween ideas. Take some outdoor decoration ideas from This Silly Girl’s Life. If you live in a small neighborhood and don’t get many trick-or-treaters, then maybe handing out goodie bags might be a good idea. My Fall Fashion Inspiration
I’ll admit it… I’m a summer kind of gal, but I love the crisp weather of Fall. I get excited about finally being able to wear my scarves and boots. I definitely need to add more sweaters to my fall and winter wardrobe! So to serve as some inspiration, here are my fall and winter fashion loves. I’m absolutely loving this neutral outfit. It’s perfect for a day of walking around the Farmer’s Market or for a fun day out walking around a Fall Festival with friends. Pairing the right sweater with the right jeans doesn’t have to be complicated. […]
Find The Beauty Within
Coco Chanel knew a thing or two about beauty. During her life, she designed some of the most beautiful clothing. One thing I really love about Coco Chanel is her wonderful words of wisdom, such as this gem below. It’s difficult to find the beauty within when you’re scrolling through Instagram and seeing one beautiful person after another wearing fancy clothes, their makeup is practically perfect, their hair falls in just the right tousled wave pattern. But not everything is as it seems on the gram. I’ve heard people say that IG features people’s highlight reel of their lives. I […]
Wanderlust: California
I have always wanted to go to California! I have a couple of friends who live out there and they love it! I actually went to L.A. a couple of years ago for a blog conference, but I didn’t get to venture out beyond the hotel and the area around the Staples Center. I did go on a walking tour, which was amazing, but there is so much to see in California besides downtown L.A. Photo Source: Reef Rainforest California holds such intrigue, mainly because I have always wanted to be an actress, but I never pursued that dream. It […]
“I Have a Dream…”: Remembering Martin Luther King Jr.
Martin Luther King Jr. had a dream… A dream of peace, freedom, and hope. Today is Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and many people around the United States have honored the legacy of this man. I am reminded of the Oscar-nominated movie, Selma, about the march from Selma, Ala., to Montgomery, Ala., in 1965, to secure equal voting rights, Martin Luther King Jr.’s words ring true as much today as they did in 1965. {Images borrowed from 1 // 2 } You can read Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I have a dream” speech HERE.
