A Season of Change

Spring “Marches” in and brings “April” showers, which brings “May” flowers… or something like that! What I mean is that Spring is almost here! A lot has happened in the last month and now I have a lot of time on my hands! All I need to do is figure out what I’m going to do with that time! Dress Form Outfit #11

This week the weather has been nice and warm, and along with the wonderful weather brings thoughts of summer! This week I paired my Juicy Couture t-shirt (one of my Chicago thrift store finds) with a denim mini-skirt. The skirt has bedazzled belt loops and camo patches on the front and back pockets. Then I belted it with a pink elastic A&E belt.   Can’t wait for summer!!!

Dress Form Outfit #10

I purchased three jersey skirts at H&M while I was in Chicago last year. They are super comfortable. This lovely sleeveless blouse is slightly sheer and I usually wear it with a glitter tank top. This outfit will look and feel great during the warm summer months. If I wanted to rock it during the winter, I would pair it with some tights, cool ankle booties and a warm sweater. I’ve been wishing for summer for the past couple of weeks, however, the groundhog saw his shadow (again) this year. So I paired this cute black sleeveless summer dress with a black corduroy jacket from the Gap. The dress’ label says “twenty one” and has very pretty floral detail on either side of the v-neck.

Lent: A Season of Sacrifice and Soul-Searching

Lent started today, on Ash Wednesday, and officially ends on Holy Thursday (if you’re Catholic) or on the eve of Easter Sunday. Many religions observe this season of reflection, sacrifice, pentance, and fasting. This morning of Ash Wednesday, I’ve been reflecting on what I plan to (1) give up, and (2) take up. I figure if I’m going to give up something “bad” for me that I’ll take up something “good” to replace the bad thing that’s gone.
