A Few of My Favorite Actresses…

I sat down at my desk this evening with the plan to compile a list of a few of my favorite actors and actresses; however, as I started jotting down names, the list grew longer by the second! So here’s “Part I” of my list… The Actresses (in no particular order)! 1. My favorite Elizabeth Taylor movie is The Taming of the Shrew, which I saw in junior high school English class after we read the play. Even in black and white, she was gorgeous. 2. Judy Garland’s most famous role is probably that of Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz. […]

DIY Project: T-Shirt Blanket

DIY: Do It Yourself. I always say I’m going to do more DIY craft projects but I never get around to actually doing any. Well technically that’s not true. This past Christmas I made five Christmas wreaths and gave them to different family members and to a couple of friends. That’s a project that I didn’t seem to have a problem starting or finishing! Paying it Forward in March

Back in January (as part of my New Year’s Resolutions) I decided that each month I will do something for myself and something for someone else. It’s kind of my own “Pay it Forward” experiment for 2012. Well, this month, I really splurged on myself. Not only did I get a mani-pedi, but I purchased a new purse. Dress Form Outfit #13

I hope your first day of Spring was as sunny and georgous as mine was here in East Tennessee! I’m not a big fan of shorts because I don’t like the way they tend to ride up in the crotch area, if you know what I mean. So I tend to stick to skirts and dresses. This week’s Dress Form Outfit (#13) was purchased at Filene’s Basement in Chicago several years ago. This beautiful periwinkle blue dress is so soft (92% modal and 8% spandex) and has a ruched waist, which hides my not-so-toned midsection.  I usually wear a long […]

Dress Form Outfit #12

It’s been a really hectic couple of weeks (what with no job to occupy my days), so this Dress Form Outfit (#12) is coming out a week later than I had hoped, but here it is… I’m so ready for Spring that my outfits seem to be getting shorter! Today’s outfit features a sheer polka-dot top (a thrift store find) over a black spaghetti strap tank and black shorts. For me, this outfit would not be complete without a fabulous pair of black high-heel wedges (not shown)! Enjoy!
