Dress Form Outfit #24

I love comfortable clothes! For me, comfort is mandatory, although some of the high heels I wear push me to the limits of my comfort zone. I try to combine being comfortable with being stylish, which sometimes is hard for me to do with my limited wardrobe. But I am really trying hard to push myself a little bit every day to be more stylish, which is why I scour fashion magazines for inspiration. This week’s dress form outfit features a comfortable charcoal gray fitted skirt (95% viscose/5% elastane) and a pink graphic print t-shirt. I actually took these photos this past Saturday afternoon because […]

Dress Form Outfit #23

I have never been to New York, but my husband has been once or twice. A few years ago, when he went for a short business trip, he stopped off and picked up this army green New York cap-sleeve fitted shirt for me. I paired it with a “lowest rise” mini-skirt from Target. Befriending a Soldier

President John F. Kennedy once said, “And so, my fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.” To me, Memorial Day is not only about the cookouts and outdoor fun with family and friends, but it is a day to remember those who have died in our nation’s service. (www.usmemorialday.org). Back in March, I sent a care package to a soldier currently stationed in Afghanistan. Earlier this week, I got a letter from her! Her name is Megan and she is scheduled to come back to the states in […]

A Nod to Someone’s Artwork

Even though I recently took up watercolor painting, I am no where near the realm of talent that both my Aunt Juanita and my cousin Nathan possess. I don’t think my cousin Nathan has a website which showcases his artwork, except maybe on his personal Facebook page, but below are a couple of pieces he gave to me. He is super talented. He usually hides his wife’s initials (LL) somewhere in his artwork. My Aunt Juanita has a website: http://juanitahoward.com/. Last year she won the Elvis in 1956 Art Contest and received tons of prizes. Check out her winning Elvis […]

Dress Form Outfit #22

Green is my favorite color and this soft cotton sleeveless shirt is not only comfortable, but accentuates my green eyes. I’ve paired this shirt with a cotton/spandex mini-skirt and a long silver necklace. I would wear black wedge sandles with it, or you could wear cute flats (although I don’t actually own any flats). Have a great day!
