My Week in Pins – Landscapes

I’ve had a rather busy week and I was pinning the other night thinking that I could use one of those O, Oprah Magazine “Breathing Space” moments. You know what I’m talking about, right? She prints a beautiful two-page photo and encourages her readers to use the photo as inspiration to a moment to reflect and relax… to use it as a “breathing space.” So this week in pins, I decided to share some beautiful “breathing space” moments for you to take a few moments from your busy day and try to de-stress… breathe in and breathe out… relax and enjoy! Dress Form Outfit #43

I’ve pulled out my scarfs and am so excited about the cooler weather. For this week’s dress form outfit, I paired a green pashmina scarf with a knee-length (sleeveless) denim dress. The scarf is wide enough to use a wrap for the cooler evenings. I also like that the denim tie-belt is a lighter shade, so it breaks up the darker denim dress. I have also, on occasion, replaced the denim tie-belt with a more color belt or even my wide black corset-style belt (seen in last week’s DFO). I think this dress is both work and date-night appropriate. I […]

My Week in Pins – Odd Couples

This week in “My Week in Pins”, which is a day late (sorry about that), I decided to showcase some really cute “odd animal couples”. So enjoy! [All pins are taken from Pinterest, but I do name the original source.] These donkeys remind me of the ones that roam my future retirement land in Colorado. Love their cooky smiles! These two friends understand the joys of sharing! You can just see and feel the love between these two beautiful dogs. I love seeing teamwork between these two pandas. Who says dogs and cats can’t get along! My dad has four […]

Reading “Letters from a Nut”

Jerry Seinfeld “knew from the beginning that I had to do everything I could to let as many people as possible read the hilarious truth about what has been going on inside the mailbox of Ted L. Nancy, whoever he may be.” This is the last line of the introduction written by comedian Jerry Seinfeld for the book Letters from a Nut, written by a guy named Ted L. Nancy. Seinfeld’s first contact with Mr. Nancy was on the night of August 30, 1995, when he went to a friend’s house to watch the Jerry Lewis Labor Day Telethon. He […]

Strive to Become a Highly Effective Person

I was perusing Pinterest last night and I came across this pin (by a guy named Marc.) It was a tribute to Dr. Stephen R. Covey, author of 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. I didn’t realize Dr. Covey had passed away this past summer. He was born on October 24, 1932 and died on July 16, 2012. He was a businessman, educator, author, and motivational speaker. He empowered greatness in hundreds of thousands of people through his books and seminars. I have been feeling empowered, of sorts, every since I got a new job over three weeks ago. So […]
