Hello, Summer! What’s in My FabFitFun 2018 Summer Edition Box

FabFitFun Summer 2018

Saturday was full of excitement for me. First thing I did was make a yummy French toast breakfast for me and my husband. Then I went to my local Ulta Beauty Salon and got a haircut {can we say “big chop”?}. And then when I got home, my husband said, “I got my FabFitFun box today. Want to see what’s inside?” Needless to say, I yipped with joy. I didn’t think my box would arrive until today!! I always get super excited when my FabFitFun box arrives. To me, it means the opportunity to discover ultra-chic brands that are headed […]

Links I Love: May

Links I Love

I’ve been kind of out of it the past couple of months, since Daisy’s passing. And although I haven’t been writing much {where the heck did I put my editorial calendar?}, I have been reading quite a bit {both blogs and newsletters}, and binge-watching TV shows, like The Royals, Suits, and Chuck {thanks, Amazon Prime}. I’ve also been perusing Pinterest, trying to decide if I want to cut my hair. Steal Her Style: Nina Garcia

As long as I can remember, Nina Garcia has always had amazing style. She has been in the fashion industry since the early 1980s, but she walked into my life in 2005 as a judge on Project Runway. She recently left Marie Claire where she was the Creative Director, and stepped into the Editor-In-Chief position at ELLE magazine. Nina authored four books: The Little Black Book of Style, The One Hundred: A Guide to the Pieces Every Stylish Woman Must Own, The Style Strategy, and Nina Garcia’s Look Book. For this particular “Steal Her Style”, I had a difficult time trying to decide which of Nina’s looks […]

Special Dinner Party with Famous Mothers & Daughters

Today is Mother’s Day and I’m throwing a special {albeit imaginary} dinner party for some special celebrity mothers and their daughters. These daughters are breaking the mold and setting the stage to take over the world that their celebrity mothers helped create. Invited to this year’s Mother’s Day dinner party are Cindy Crawford and Kaia Gerber, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Carys Douglas, Reese Witherspoon and Ava Phillippe, and Keri and Yara Shahidi. Together with my mom and I, we will share a delicious meal and a fun activity while we bond over our love of fashion and style, and most importantly, […]

The Fabulous Fashion of the Met Gala

Hundreds of celebrities, models, fashion insiders, and industry paragons will converge at tonight’s Met Gala, which is held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The Met Gala {formerly known as the Costume Institute Gala}, started in 1946 as a charity ball for the Costume Institute. Affectionately known as “fashion’s biggest night out”, this star-studded affair is one of the city’s biggest fundraisers, and is hosted by Anna Wintour, EIC of Vogue. “Commanding between $30,000 to $50,000 per ticket (tables can range between $275,000 to $500,000, according to sources), the ball raised more than $12 million last […]
