Once again, I’m going through hair envy. When I see other naturally curly-haired beauties, I think and sometimes verbalize, “I wish my hair looked like that!” So I scoured Pinterest, and googled naturally curly hair styles and celebrities with curly hair, and here’s what I came up with — everyone’s curls are different; everyone styles their hair differently; and not everyone cannot use the same products. When I look back at old photos of myself, I think about the love-hate relationship I had with my hair and realize that I still have that love-hate relationship but thankfully it’s more one […]
The September Issue
Every year, millions of fashionistas (almost all women, and some men) wait patiently for Vogue magazine’s “September Issue”. This year was no different, with the industry’s “fashion Bible” touting “916 pages of spectacular fall fashion for all”! And of course I was one of those millions who purchased the September issue with a certain level of expectation that there would truly be a wide array of “fall fashion for all”, meaning fall fashion that anyone and everyone could afford. Articles Worth a Second Read
For years I have subscribed to various magazines, relishing the smell of the freshly printed magazines and the smooth finish of the glossy covers. And for years, after I read a magazine from cover-to-cover, I went back through for one final read and ripped out a page (or pages) here and there and cataloged them: “Fashion”, “Beauty – Hair & Skin Care”, “Fitness”, “All Things Chanel”, and “Articles Worth a Second Read.” I recently went through a huge three-inch binder that held all these magazine pages and made two piles – keep and toss. My keep pile ended up quite […]
