When You Dream, Dream Big

There’s a song by Ryan Shupe and The Rubberband entitled, “Dream Big”. “And when you dream, dream big As big as the ocean blue ‘Cause when you dream it might come true When you dream, dream big” That’s just the chorus, but the entire song is hopeful and inspiring. I’ve always been a dreamer – just ask my momma. Ever since I was 10 years old, I dreamt of being the next Barbara Walters; however, I changed my mind when I was 15 years old and I wanted to be a writer and that’s what I’ve been doing on and […]

When Life Hands You Lemons

There are times when everyone feels a little low. Times are tough, especially right now, and we, as humans, run the full range of emotions from love to hate, from happiness to sadness, from peace to anxiety, etc. I’m currently in a state of happy anxiety, mixed with a touch of procrastination. “Why?” you ask? Well, I’ll tell you. I am working on a screenplay that I hope to submit to an internationally-known screenwriter’s lab. Reflecting on Lent

“Throw me some beads, mister!” The last day of gluttony, debauchery, wild celebrations, and a last hoo-rah for anyone and everyone preparing for the upcoming Lent season is today – “Fat Tuesday”, for tomorrow is Ash Wednesday. I Admit It… I Love Working!

My husband has jokingly said (of me) that I “will be the only person in the world to work through her own bereavement leave and work three days past my funeral.” He’s probably going to be correct, because – and I’ll freely admit this – I love working! Right now I’m working as a Medical Assistant for a General Surgeon… no names will be given because (1) I don’t want to be asked for any medical advice (as I’m NOT a doctor nor am I an RN/LPN), and because (2) I don’t want any stalkers (joking… ok, maybe only halfway […]

Will You Make Any New Year’s Resolutions?

So I’ve eaten my black-eyes peas and I’m now at my desk after scanning Pinterest like a mad-woman. I think I’m coming down with a cold because my throat is a little sore, I’m sneezing, and I’m alternating between the chills and the sweats. But I can’t let a little sniffle or sneeze hinder me from trying to figure out (1) if I’m going to write down some “New Year’s Resolutions”, and (2) if I do put together some resolutions, what are they going to be. So until I decide whether or not I’m going to write down any resolutions […]
