Happy Fourth of July

When I think of Independence Day, I don’t necessarily think of the Will Smith movie where he goes off and fights an alien invasion. No, I think of Independence Day as a day full of barbecues, parades, open air concerts, baseball games, political speeches and ceremonies, as well as fireworks. I mean, we can’t forget the fireworks, am I right? Independence Day of the United States, also referred to as the Fourth of July or July Fourth in the U.S., is a federal holiday commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, by the Continental Congress […]

Free Compliments, Please Take One

A year or so ago, I posted a couple of these “Free Compliments” fliers around the office because morale seemed a little low and the ladies at work were a little snippy to each other. I would probably be 23. I often have to remind myself exactly how old I really am. I feel like I could accomplish so […]

How to Break the Fashion Rules this Summer

I’m at that time in my life where I think I should stop wearing certain things because I’m in my early 40s. No more shorts. No more short skirts or short dresses. No fitted clothing. No leggings. But I think that we, as women, are too hard on ourselves and especially too hard on other women for their choice of clothing. So here’s my suggestions on how to break the fashion rules, especially for this summer. 1. Show off those gams! If you got ’em, flaunt ’em, am I right? My husband is constantly telling me I have beautiful legs, and when […]
