Why Khloe and Kourtney Are My Faves!

I have really tried to pull myself away from watching the mindless dribble that is reality television, but somehow those Kardashians keep pulling me in with their family drama! I just watched the conclusion of the “Kardashian therapy session” and my heart really went out to Rob Kardashian. I think he is a bit left out on the “family business” end of things, but he really does need to take more initiative. He needs some direction and maybe Kris Jenner does tend to the business of the girls more than she does for her son. Rob also needs to take […]

My Review of the September T&C

Last month I expressed my excitement about getting several magazines in the mail. Among those magazines was the September issue of Town & County, which was full of really great articles. One article that popped out at me was in the “Manners & Misdemeanors” column, which this month was written by Ali Wentworth, the beautiful wife of George Stephanopoulos. Her article, entitled “Confessions of a Bag Lady”, was a comical look at the idea of goodie bags, which are given away at charity dinners, book parties, film festivals, etc. Ali states, “A quick primer: A goodie bag is the reward one gets […]

From My Kitchen to Yours

I make lunch for my husband’s entire family (if everyone comes over, there’s nine of us) every Sunday. I don’t mind it really, because I really like to cook (and bake). Several years ago, I kind of took over the Sunday cooking responsibilities from my husband’s grandmother, Maw (as we call her). We’ve lived with her going on 10 years, and I’ve probably cooked more Sunday lunches and holiday dinners than I care to count. But as everyone knows who sits at our dinner table, I don’t cook crap and everything I make is “made with love!” So this Sunday […]

My Week in Pins

“My Week in Pins” returns this week after a brief (one week, I think) hiatus. This week I have been burning up my iPad on Pinterest “pinning” everything from recipes to purses, much to the chagrin of my husband who also like to use my iPad to peruse eBay for car parts, farm equipment and the like. This week, I’d like to focus on “statement pieces”, such as jewelry, watches, etc. First up is this bracelet, which can be seen on Etsy. I like it because my name means “butterfly”! When I saw this watch, I immediately thought that if […]

The Millennium Trilogy are Good Reads

Earlier this year, I read Stieg Larsson’s “The Millennium Trilogy” – The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played With Fire, and The Girl Who Kicked The Hornets’ Nest. When I say “read”, what I meant was “listened to”, because I checked out the audiobooks from my local library. These audiobooks were read by Simon Vance, who I think was the perfect choice to read these books! For those of you who like to read the book before watching the movie, I strongly suggest you check with your local library to see if they have the audiobooks. You will not […]
