I love making wreaths for Christmas and the winter holiday season. For me it’s rather relaxing and it taps into the creative side of my brain. So this week in pins, I thought I’d do two things: (1) show off a few of the great wreaths I found on Pinterest; and (2) show you how easy it is to make your own wreath! First up are a couple of wreaths I found – yes, on Pinterest – but more importantly, they are also on Esty and are available for purchase. This lime green feather wreath with red ball ornament details […]
Good Reads: Nikki Heat Series by Richard Castle
I’ve always been an avid reader (or a bookworm, as some would call me), so much so that I’ve been told that I often used books to escape real life. But sometimes the world written about in books was often more warm, safe, and inviting than the real world. My love of reading, and writing, started at a very early age. But nowadays, I rarely get an opportunity to actually crack open an actual book. I do read an actual book when I’m doing cardio at the gym, or I’ll read a book on my Kindle app on my phone […]
My Week in Pins – Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving is a day to give THANKS and this holiday season, I have a lot for which to be thankful! But that’s another post for another day, so I’ll just share with you my week in pins, which this week is all about Thanksgiving! [Sorry this post is a day late, but better late than never!] All photos come from Pinterest, but I have named the original source if one was listed. Who doesn’t enjoy the Charlie Brown Thanksgiving special every year, am I right? And I love the family dynamics in the Norman Rockwell Thanksgiving painting. I always think that […]
Walking for a Good Cause: Save the Ta-Tas
On Saturday, October 27th, I joined thousands of other people who participated in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in Knoxville, TN. The 5K course took racers and walkers through downtown Knoxville. I walked with Katy and her husband, Russ, and we had a great time! It rained just a little bit during the first mile, but it eventually stopped and it cooled the air considerably. Several of my other co-workers were participating, but I could only find Katy when the race was getting ready to start. The three of us finished in 1-hour and 22 minutes. I […]
Fun With Balls
First of all… get your minds out of the gutter! I’m talking about fun with food balls! Ok, I meant for that to be a suggestive title in the hopes it would grab your attention and make you want to check out this post! So now that you’re here, please continue reading! Anyway, I love to make food that you can pick up with your fingers and toss into your mouth, like sausage balls, mini-meatloaf balls, and Oreo Cookie balls. First up – sausage balls… super simple recipe! Ingredients: 1 1-lb roll of sausage, uncooked 1 to 1-1/2 cups of Bisquick […]
