This year, sequins made yet another appearance on New Year’s Eve. I’m not saying that that’s a bad thing, because I like sequins! However, I don’t necessarily think sequins are just for a holidays or special occasions. No, I think sequins are a part of a person’s personal style. Today’s dress form outfit hopefully reflect that sentiment.
I purchased this silvery sequined skirt from a thrift store a couple of years ago. I paired it with a {vintage} black velvet blazer that I purchased at a thrift store probably 15 or so years ago.
The top was swiped from my mother’s closet last year and is a Mossimo for Target top that is as soft as silk {but I really think it’s polyester}. I think the jewel-toned top goes nicely with the skirt.
I have a pair of slouchy black boots that I could pair with this outfit, but I couldn’t find them in my closet. So I chose two other footwear options – a pair of platform heels and a pair of black booties {Mossimo for Target, pictured above} were purchased at the StateMint Style consignment sale.
I meant to post this Dress Form Outfit (DFO) before Christmas {that didn’t happen}, and then again before New Year’s {but again, that didn’t happen}. Procrastination strikes again!
Anyway, here are a couple of other DFO looks featuring Christmas shirts. I took the these last few photos before Christmas. This first outfit, I styled my gold sequined mini with a casual tee and a pair of Steve Madden boots.
My blogger friend, Katie Lee, owns a small boutique, My Kind of Lovely. A couple of years ago, she had a booth at the Festival of Trees in Knoxville, and I purchased this “Merry Christmas Y’all” shirt at her booth.
I styled it with the silver sequined skirt and the velvet blazer. And depending on the weather, you could wear a pair of statement heels or cool booties.
So Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and all that other stuff… Here’s wishing your 2021 is better than 2020!
I have styled this silver sequined skirt on my dress form outfit before, and you can check it out here.
Yours Truly,
Vanessa
