I’ve been styling my antique dress form since I started blogging in 2012, and I still enjoy dressing it up. In fact, a couple of weeks ago, I styled a dress form outfit with a black slip dress three ways.
I actually purchased this black J. Crew slip dress last Spring at the StateMint Style Consignment sale and I’ve worn it a couple of times under a jacket. I actually wore Look #3 to the a blog conference in Nashville last summer.
Plain & Simple
Below is a photo of the slip dress, styled with a belt bag, a long necklace, and a simple pair of WhoWhatWear slides {purchased from Target}. I’ve styled it three ways. Keep scrolling to check out the looks.
Look #1
I purchased this Gypsy Junkies t-shirt at this year’s Spring StateMint Style Consignment sale and got it for a bargain. {I’ve actually styled this tee with jeans in a previous post, which you can check out here.}
Look #2
My name means “butterfly”, so I’m often drawn to pieces that have a butterfly pattern. This brightly colored Old Navy top just sparks joy in my heart. I would wear this out on a night with my friends. I paired this outfit with a simple pair of black Aldo wedges.
Look #3
This look is one of my favorites. I paired the slip dress with my WhoWhatWear jacket and my Lucky Brand shoes. This is a great look for date night, but as I mentioned earlier, I wore this dress form outfit {minus the belt bag} to a blog conference in Nashville.
I met You-Tuber and makeup artist, Paris Chanel, at the Blogger XChange conference last summer. She is so nice, such a classy lady, and she’s super stylish.
My slip dress hits just above my knees and can be styled with tights for winter or bare-legged for summer. You can style a slip dress like this one with a t-shirt, a sweater, or a jacket.
Slip dresses are great for dressing up or dressing down and can be worn year-round.
Yours Truly,
Vanessa
