Almost everyone, myself included, is obsessed with Meghan Markle’s style. There are women around the world who try to replicate her outfits, and today. I decided to replicate one of her looks on my dress form.
Blazer & Pinstripe Dress
Remember this outfit?
In April 2018, Meghan wore an Altuzarra dress, a Camilla and Marc Marguerite blazer, Tamara Mellon Paramore pumps, and an Oroton Avalon crossbody bag to the a CHOGM event in London.
Some people loved this look, while others, not so much. Some people loved the dress, but thought the blazer was too structured to be just slung over her shoulders. Well, to each their own, is what I say.
Replicating Meghan’s Outfit
My dress is not really “pinstripe” because the stripes are varying widths. I found this dress at Target last September before I attended the BlogHer 2019 Creator’s Summit in New York.
I styled the outfit with three different styles of footwear. Above, I styled it with a pair of platform wedge sandals {purchased at DSW}. Below, on the left, I paired the outfit with a pair of wedge booties {purchased from Target}, while, on the right, I paired this look with a pair of brogues {purchased from Becky’s Discount Shoes in Cleveland, Tenn.}.
As I mentioned earlier, I purchased this dress from Target last September. The black blazer is from New York & Co., and I purchased it probably 20 years ago. {It’s a little tight, but it still fits.}
In this next photo, I replaced the blazer with a sleeveless sweater, which I purchased at a thrift store a couple of years ago. I paired with with a Kate Spade crossbody bag, which I purchased from another thrift store a couple of months ago.
You may not necessarily think that this is an actual replica of the Meghan’s outfit, but this is my spin on it. Meghan Markle’s style has influenced thousands and thousands of people, myself included.
I’ve got lots more outfits for my dress form, so bookmark my blog and come back to check out my dress form outfits!
Yours Truly,
