I love dresses, especially for summer. So when I saw this butterfly dress, I just knew I had to take it home with me. I also knew that once I hung this dress on my dress form, that I could figure out how to style it.
It’s a little big on me, but I figured I could style it with a belt, and/or maybe take it in a little to better fit my body.
Tucker for Target
I purchased this dress from a local thrift store and was immediately drawn to it, mainly because of the butterfly pattern. The dress was created by designer Gaby Basora for a limited-edition collection for Target’s GO International® back in 2010.
“Known for silk-printed blouses and dresses, not specific to any age, style or state of mind, Tucker is a favorite of fashionistas with a youthful spirit and lifestyle.”
“The collection was an eclectic mix of bohemian-chic bold prints and versatile shapes that are ideal for layering. An assortment of eye-catching graphics including butterflies, polka dots and large florals, paired with spicy hues such as taupe, pumpkin and brick red, transform classic silhouettes into fresh must-haves.”
Style Ideas
I cinched the waist with a thin gray braided belt {another purchase from a thrift store}, my Ann Taylor denim jacket, and my black Mossimo {Target} booties {this pair of booties was actually purchased at the StateMint Style consignment sale last fall}.
For daytime, I would probably wear a pair of blue slides or sandals. For nighttime, you could wear either a pair of blue flats, heels, or booties. I actually would like to get a pair of gray booties to wear with this dress, as well as a few other outfits.
How would you style this dress? What shoes would you suggest I wear with it? Would you put a t-shirt or dress shirt under the dress, or cover up with a jacket?
Let me know your suggestions on how you would style this dress in the comments below.
Yours Truly,
Vanessa

Your little tan sandals would look great with this outfit.
