Rob Lowe spent much of the 1980s as a member of the “Brat Pack”, a group of young, powerful and reckless actors and actresses. He is just as good-looking now as he was back in the 80s, which is why I named him this month’s “Man of Style.”
As I said earlier, Rob was one of the nine original members of the 1980s “Brat Pack”, along with Judd Nelson, Demi Moore, Anthony Michael Hall, Sean Penn, Ally Sheedy, Molly Ringwald, Emilio Estevez and Andrew McCarthy.
Now at 55, Rob has bounced back from a sex tape scandal, saying that it was the “greatest thing that ever happened” to him.
“In 1988 he paid a very public price, when a videotape surfaced of Lowe having sex with two young women in an Atlanta hotel. One was 22, the other 16, but because the incident occurred in Georgia, where the age of consent is 16, Lowe did not face criminal charges. Still, his image took a hit.” {Source: QG}
In 2011, Rob told USA Today that if he did not dye his hair, it would be entirely grey. He said he went grey at age 24.
“There’s this unbelievable bias and prejudice against quote-unquote good-looking people, that they can’t be in pain or they can’t have rough lives or be deep or interesting. They can’t be any of the things that you long to play as an actor. I’m getting to play those parts now and loving it. When I was a teen idol, I was so goddamn pretty I wouldn’t have taken myself seriously.”
