Using Sundays to Plan for the Best Week Ever

Who else uses Sundays to plan for the upcoming week? Come on, raise your hands! I do, and I have a feeling that I’m not alone because I see all those Instagram photos {#mealprepping} and the myriad of other bloggers who post about how they use Sundays to plan for the week ahead. We all want to have the best week ever and planning ahead to make that “dream” come true is why there are so many of us who use Sundays to plan for “the best week ever”!

When I found this “Sunday Routine” on Pinterest the other evening, I was like, “this is almost me, except I don’t meal prep!”

Some of us use Sundays to do laundry or go grocery shopping, or we spend an hour or so decluttering our surroundings or cleaning out the inbox of our emails. Some of us spend time outside, especially if weather permits. Congratulations! You’ve developed a good, solid Sunday routine!

But if I’m going to be completely honest, I’m a bit of a procrastinator. As my friend and co-worker {Sophia S.} says, “why do today what I can put off until next week.” {#procrastinators unite, tomorrow!}

Like most people, I just plan to look one thing up on Pinterest or Facebook or Instagram, and the next thing I know, I’m sucked down a rabbit hole and WHAM!, a couple of hours has gone by and I still didn’t find what I was looking for in the first place. Anyone else do the same thing?

I’m great at multi-tasking… AT WORK, but not at home, especially on Sundays. I start out cleaning my dressing room, and take a second to carry some dirty clothes to the laundry basket, and the next thing I’m doing has nothing to do with cleaning the dressing room or doing laundry. Then I have to shake myself and head back into my dressing room to finish putting my clean laundry away. Again, does anyone else do the same thing?

I guess it’s really all about how you choose to set up your Sunday routine. It doesn’t have to be as perfect as other more organized or “with-it” people’s routine. I like to call it “organized chaos.” Your routine may look chaotic to someone else, but at least you know what you’re looking at and you know what to do with all of the pieces to make them fit together to turn your life into a work of art.

Cheers to those who have their sh*t together! And to those of us out there just trying to stay on track, “Procrastinators unite… tomorrow!”
