Taron Egerton plays sexy and stylish British secret service agent Gary “Eggsy” Unwin in both Kingsman: The Secret Service, and the sequel, Kingsman: The Golden Circle. In the first Kingsman movie, he is transformed from a scruffy thug into a true gentleman who wears bespoke suits, thanks to his mentor, Harry Hart, played by the charming British actor, Colin Firth. After watching the sequel this past weekend, I knew that I needed to name Taron Egerton as this month’s “Man of Style”.
“I’m naturally quite a scruffy bugger, so it was lovely to have a jaunt into the world of bespoke tailoring. To me, the reason men look good in suits is that it lends them a certain status; it’s the equivalent of a suit of armour.” – Taron Egerton {said in an interview with The Short List}
Taron Egerton was named one of Glamour’s 100 Sexiest Men of 2017 {UK}, and it’s no wonder… just look at his smoldering good looks in these photos!
“I can’t claim to have a huge knowledge of fashion trends, but I’d never worn a bespoke suite before and I think I have developed a certain taste for them – particularly ones designed to fit every contour of your body. It feels like it clicks into place. You do feel very, very empowered. {when asked about style, in an interview with GQ Britain}
You could watch him go head-to-head with the evil characters in the Kingsman movies, where he holds his own alongside Colin Firth and Sir Michael Caine. Or you could watch him in the inspirational movie, Eddie the Eagle, in which portrays Eddie Edwards, a.k.a. Eddie the Eagle, a British underdog ski jumper who charmed the world in the 1988 Winter Olympics.
Taron Egerton’s breakout role was in the British mini-series The Smoke, but he gained world-wide fame as Eggsy in Kingsman: The Secret Service. If you’ve watched the first Kingsman movie, then you need to watch the second one – Kingsman: The Golden Circle.
As I mentioned earlier, he starred alongside Hugh Jackman in Eddie the Eagle, but keep the Kleenex close by because you’ll have tears in your eyes as you cheer him on in this inspirational underdog story.
Then hear him flex his singing chops as he voices Johnny {the gorilla} in the animated musical comedy Sing.
And finally, coming out in November {just in time for Thanksgiving}, Taron Egerton plays the title role in Robin Hood: Origins.
I can’t wait to see what the future holds for this stylish British actor. I really hope they make more Kingsman movies!
