I haven’t posted much in the past couple of months, but that’s okay {I think}. One thing is for sure though… I’ve been catching up on some reading; or more specifically, I’ve been reading some great posts from some of the other bloggers I follow. So in this month’s “Links I Love”, I’m going to share with you some of the posts that I’ve bookmarked to read again later.
January 2018 Reading List – The Stripe, by Grace Atwood
I’m always interested to see what other people are reading, especially bloggers I follow. I’ve even gone to my local library to check out some of the recommended books I’ve read about. Grace always has such a wonderful selection of good reads, and this month was no different. I like that she selected a book who has a character named Vanessa {like me!} {“The Wife Between Us“}, and that she selected and recommended “self-help” book that she says “will probably change your life” {“The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck“}.
Books a Million: What I Read, Part XIX – Camels & Chocolates, by Kristin Luna
This fellow Tennessee blogger also has some good reading recommendations, like Big Little Lies and The Handmaid’s Tale. Both of these books are now television shows, but if you’re like me, you like the book as much, if not more, than the show {or movie}.
How To Get Out Of A Creative Rut – Damsel in Dior, by Jacey Duprie
Jacey is one of my favorite bloggers, if not my favorite. She is several years younger than me, but I absolutely love her! Like me, she is from Texas, so I feel a bit of a connection with her even though we’ve never met. When her daily newsletter arrived in my inbox, I opened it to find the blog post I needed to read at that moment, which was all about how to get out of a creative rut. I could totally relate! After blogging every day for Blogtober {in October last year}, my creative juices started to dry up. I would come up with blog ideas, but then never write them. Or I would start a draft and never finish it, so those blog posts are still just sitting in my draft files. Jacey had some great tips and shared some wise advise from her father. Now I’m ready to heed her advice and jump back in the blogging pool! She also shared a great reading list, which you can check out here.
Links I Love – Cupcakes and Cashmere, by Emily Schuman
I took a creative cue from Emily’s “Links I Love” series and began my own monthly series. Every month, she has a great selection of links that I devour, and this month’s links are just as great. Want to know at what age you peak at everything in life? She linked you to it. Have you ever asked yourself, “Has Paul Rudd ever aged?” Well, she’s got a link to a quiz that will test your vision.
I’ve read a lot more than what I’m linking here in this post, but I don’t want to overcrowd your mind with a lot of extra reading. Just know that my creative juices are flowing and I’ve got some great blog posts waiting in the wings! So enjoy these “links I love” and feel free to share them with your friends, family, or whoever!!
Yours Truly,
Vanessa
P.S. If you’re a fan of any of the Real Housewives reality shows, then check out this post from PureWow to see which “Real Housewife” you are, based on your zodiac sign. And for anyone wondering… I’m a Lisa Vanderpump!
