One thing I get excited about when Fall comes around is heading to the nail salon to transition my nail color from summer brights to deep reds. I have always said that I’m a sucker for a good red nail polish, but Fall is more than just reds — it’s shades of burgundy, brown, metallics, glossy blacks, glitters, and peach-beige neutrals.

When I pamper myself, I usually get a gel manicure because it lasts longer and stays shinier than just a regular manicure. I have spent hours watching nail videos on Instagram looking for inspiration, but I almost always slip back into my comfort zone and stay with “Princesses Rule” or “I’m Not Really a Waitress” for my fingernails. {I’m a little more daring with my toenails.}
So when I was invited by a fellow Knoxville blogger {Kate of Southern Belle Simple} to treat myself to a manicure at La La Nails in The Gallery Shopping Center in Knoxville, my first thought was that it was a great way to support a family-owned local business. Then I realized I couldn’t remember the last time I went to a nail salon for a manicure.
I met Kate and another blogger, Katie of Pearls and Twirls, there for special nail treatments. I chose to have my nails powder dipped. I’ve seen this technique on Instagram, so I thought I’d give it a try. I chose a light burgundy color with flecks of glitter in it, which I think is a great fall color.
{Sidebar: What’s the difference between dipped nails and acrylic nails? Acrylic nails are applied by combining a liquid with a powder to form a gel. With dipped nails, your nails are brushed with a bonding glue and then dipped in fine powder that comes in a wide array of colors. Also with dipped nails, there is no odor, no liquids, no primer, and no UV lights.}
This 4000 square feet salon features 20 nail stations as well as 22 spa chairs for pedicures, including four spa chairs specifically for children. offers full nail services as well as waxing services. They also offer eyelash extensions as well as eyelash and eyebrow tinting. Because this salon is so spacious, it’s perfect for hosting your next event, whether it be a birthday party, a bachelorette party, or just a girls’ day out with friends. They have a colorful corner full of nail polishes to choose from, in addition to a great selection of SNS/dipping powders.
Also, the ventilation system was great. You know how some nail salons you go to have that nail polish or acrylic nail smell? Well, this place doesn’t have that! And the staff is so friendly and welcoming. It truly is the nicest nail salon I’ve been to in a long time. It was so clean and sanitized, but it didn’t have that sanitized smell. I’ll definitely go back before my Christmas party for a relaxing pedicure, and to have my nails dipped again.
If you live in the Knoxville area, or are planning a visit to the area, then stop by La La Nails and treat yourself!
Yours Truly,
Vanessa
