Earlier this week, Virgil Abloh unveiled his much-anticipated collaboration with Warby Parker. I have been on the hunt for a stylish pair of prescription sunglasses since January when I had my eyes check. I ended up with two pair of “progressive” glasses because I couldn’t make up my mind on a pair of prescription sunglasses. But now, I think I just found the perfect pair of prescription sunglasses in the Warby Parker x Off-White Virgil Abloh collaboration. These are definitely the season’s hottest sunglasses collaboration.
Combining Warby Parker’s alternative approach to eyewear with Off-White’s unorthodox take on high-fashion, this limited-edition collection offers three bold, black frames in a range of exaggerated proportions.
Virgil Abloh is a man of many talents – architect, creative director, and designer. He is the founder of the Milan-based fashion label Off-White. This Chicago-raised designer has created three pairs of luxe black sunglasses, which launched on July 25th and are sure to sell out quickly.
All three styles feature classic curves, extra-thick acetate, and dark lenses. Each of the three frames, despite their variations in size, were designed to make a big statement. If you look closely at each pair of sunglasses, you’ll notice subtle differences that give each pair of sunglasses a unique and stylish look: exaggerated proportions, and zero base curve lenses with blue anti-reflective coatings on the inside.
Styling these Warby Parker x Off-White Vurgil Anloh luxe glasses will be easy as the simple black frame will add a classic look to any outfit.
This collection, as well as many other styles of sunglasses, is available online at Warby Parker.
Warby Parker offers designer eyewear at a revolutionary and affordable price. The founders “believe that buying glasses should be easy and fun. It should leave you happy and good-looking, with money in your pocket. We also believe that everyone has the right to see.”
According to their website, “almost one billion people worldwide lack access to glasses, which means that 15% of the world’s population cannot effectively learn or work. To help address this problem, Warby Parker partners with non-profits like VisionSpring to ensure that for every pair of glasses sold, a pair is distributed to someone in need.” For more information, check out their “Buy a Pair, Give a Pair” story.
They also have a home try-on option, meaning you can select five frames {glasses and sunglasses} and try them out for five days, and they’ll ship them to you for free. What a bargain, especially if you’re like me and it takes you three hours to shop for frames.
