It’s that time of year for Christmas music and movies, holiday cheer, food galore, and of course, ugly holiday sweaters. In fact, some holiday parties you attend this month will require you to get decked out in fancy party dresses. Other parties will have you decked out in the most ridiculous and ugly Christmas sweaters.
My office Christmas party is this coming Friday and we are having an “ugly sweater” contest. So now I have to come up with ugly sweaters {or sweatshirts or sweater vests} for both me and my husband. Then I have to convince my husband to actually wear it! I think that if I don’t make his to outrageously ridiculous that he might actually wear it.
I only have four days until my office Christmas party. I could buy a couple of sweaters with funny sayings on them, but instead I’m going to DIY our sweaters so I really need them to be easy. Of course the first place I went for inspiration was Pinterest.
Creating an ugly Christmas sweater could be as simple as just stitching a couple of ornaments to the sweater, or it could be more elaborate and you could create an entire outfit (not just a sweater).
What do you think about these ugly sweater ideas?
Poor Rudolph ate too much Christmas candy… Kind of gross, but also kind of funny!
If you don’t want to create and wear an ugly “ugly sweater”, especially if you may want to wear the sweater again, then try this cute “ugly sweater” idea. Add a holiday movie quote to your sweater, like this quote from Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.
You could take your ugly sweater to the next level and create an entire look, like a Christmas tree or a reindeer.
Still need some DIY ugly sweater ideas? Then check these out.
Creating an ugly sweater for your holiday party can be as simple as adding a few ornaments to the front or more elaborate, as evident from some of the ideas I’ve posted above. Just remember, you don’t have to break the bank when creating your ugly Christmas sweater.
Yours Truly,
Vanessa

Wow I had no idea the level that ugly sweaters has gone to. I can’t unseen thsee but some of them are really great. I’m a sahm so I won’t be attending a holiday party but boy if I get one when I go back I want to try one of these! That tree is cute!
I had no Ida the level of ugly or tacky that these sweaters could achieve, but my husband sometimes says I live a sheltered life. Anyways, happy holidays!
