October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and there’s a campaign going on down in Australia called #IPledgeToCheck. I read about it in couple of blog posts, one by a young woman by the name of Annalee from Perth, WA., and the other by a retired teacher named Libby.
The #IPledgeToCheck Campaign is sponsored by QV Skincare and they are selling a moisturizing self check breast cream.
I have written about Breast Cancer awareness before in “Pink is the New Black” and “How You Can Support Breast Cancer Awareness in October”, because it is a cause that is near and dear to my heart.
Breast cancer not only affects women, but men as well. They need to check their breasts once a month, just like us women!
I think that we, here in America, should adopt this pledge as well. In fact, I think I’ll start it today! I, Vanessa, pledge to check my breasts by doing regular self breast exams and monitor my breasts for any changes. And since I’m over the age of 40, I will also pledge to get my mammogram this month.
Want to know how to do a self breast exam? Then click on this link to QV’s website for a detailed “how-to” and check your breasts today! And yes, that goes for you men as well!
Have you or a loved one, or someone you know been affected by breast cancer? Whether you are fighting through it now or are a survivor, I’d love to honor you when I walk in the Susan G. Komen 20th Annual Race for the Cure 2016 in Knoxville, Tenn., on Oct. 22nd. So leave your name or the name of your loved one or friend in the comments below, and I will put their name on my race shirt.
The best protection is early detection!
Yours Truly,
Vanessa

Love this! My grandmother died of breast cancer, so breast cancer awareness is hugely important to me!
