Rooms That Sleeping Beauty Would Love

One might say that the living room is where he or she spends the majority of their time when they are home. Others might say the kitchen. And then there are some who would say the bedroom is where they spend a majority of their time when they are home.

Then there are those (like me and my husband) who lived in studio-style living quarters and the only thing that separated the living room from the bedroom was an imaginary line down the middle of the room.

I always say that “one of these days when I can build a house of my own, I’m going to design and decorate it however I want.” When my parents built their house several years ago, they put in two master suites (one for them and one for my mom’s parents), a whirlpool tub and a vanity mirror in the guest bathroom (for me), and a full two-room apartment in the basement. They definitely built it the way they wanted. So who’s to say I can’t do the same?

But until I can afford to build my house in the Rockies, here are some bedroom photos from which I take some inspiration.

I love the exposed brick and the gorgeous mirror behind the bed. I also love the way the bed is on a platform of sorts.

This fabric headboard, which is attached to the ceiling, is a great idea and can probably be a great weekend DIY project.

What are some of your bedroom goals? How would you decorate your space if money were no object?

  1. We talk about what our bedroom would look like if we ever decide to build (which we most likely won’t!). Our must haves would be a huge fireplace and two master bathrooms in our master bedroom with walk-in closets in each one. This was a fun list. I LOVE those bedrooms!

    1. Thanks Dawn! I hope that you get your dream bedroom one of these days! I miss being your LA next-door-neighbor!
