10 Reasons to Love Joyus and Awestruck

This month has been amazing! On August 3rd, I flew from my home in East Tennessee to Los Angeles, California, for the BlogHer 16 conference. Not only was it my first time in the City of Angels, but it was my first time in California. It was also my first time attending a blog conference. I had no idea what to expect, but let me tell you, I had the time of my life!

Not only did I get to meet some amazing bloggers, some of whom I follow on Instagram or Facebook or subscribe to their blogs or YouTube channels, but I also met some amazing people working the sponsor’s booths. From meeting Freddie Prinze, Jr., at the Best Buy booth to tasting the personalized chocolates at Chocotelegram, the sponsors helped make BlogHer 16 an amazing experience. I didn’t get a chance to stop by every booth, but that will be my goal next year!

Instead of doing one mass BlogHer 16 recap, I thought I’d break it down and highlight all of the sponsors I did meet. Of course, I’ll write an actual BlogHer 16 conference recap later, complete with details about the keynote speakers (Mayim Bialik, Sarah Michelle, Gellar, Sheryl Crow, and Kim Kardashian West) as well as the few sessions I attended. But first… the sponsors!

First up is Joyus and Awestruck. Their booth was posh and left me awestruck. Making an appearance at the booth (although I missed her) was makeup artist Kandee Johnson. You can find her at KandeeJ or at Kandeeland. Not only did I get to meet the beautiful Ami Desai, but I had an actual makeup artist do a mini-makeover on me. She used Hope Girl Magic Lash Mascara to add volume and length to my lashes. Then she added a matte lip, using Cailyn Cosmetics Pure Lust Matte Tint in Nudist.

So how do I look?

That night after my mini-makeover, I returned to my room and looked up Joyus and Awestruck. These two sites are amazing and full of great products, videos, tips and tricks!

Here are 5 reasons I love Joyus:

1. If you want an alternative to Sephora and Ulta, then give the Joyus beauty section a lookie-loo. They have a great selection of beauty products, like the Hope Girl Magic Lash Mascara and Cailyn Cosmetics Pure Lust Matt Tint. They also have products for hair, oral care, and bath & body. They also have videos detailing a lot of these products, like how to apply them!
2. They have apparel and accessories, from cute tops and dresses to shoes and bags. Prices range from affordable to “I may need to take out a small loan for this jacket.”
3. Their Home & Lifestyle section featuring products and videos for everything from how to pack and unpack in under 10 minutes to three tools you need to make summer entertaining easy. The videos are short and sweet, sharing some helpful tips and tricks.
4. Since Joyus is a lifestyle company, then it’s only natural that they have a Health & Fitness section, which features products and videos on how to get in shape at home and have fun doing it.
5. And finally, they have shows. “What do you mean they have shows?” I mean, they have their own shows, like “60 sec Style Swap”, “Beauty Bootcamp”, and “PEOPLE Stuff We Love”.
