Wanderlust: The Beauty of India

The beauty of India can be seen in the architecture, the traditions, the culture, and the people of India.

Movies like Marigold, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, Eat Pray Love, Slumdog Millionaire, and The Darjeeling Limited provide outsiders like me with a glimpse of the reality and the beauty of India.

India has many destinations for people who want to experience the culture and traditions of this country. One can enjoy an elephant ride up to the Great Amber (Amer) Hindu Fort and Palace, buy brightly colored saris and trinkets at the Anjuan Flea Market, or relax on the beautiful beaches of Goa.

UPDATE: With news of the 7.8 magnitude earthquake that rocked Nepal, my thoughts went to this blog post. I still very much would love to visit India. Nepal is located just to the north-northeast of India. Relief efforts have been hampered because of the aftershokes, including a 6.7 magnitude earthquake near Kathmandu, Nepal. Thousands have died, thousands are trapped, and thousands are still missing. So, here is how we can help Nepal earthquake victims. You can donate to UNICEF, Doctors Without Borders, or Red Cross. Please pray for Nepal, their people, and everyone around the world who has been personally affected by this disaster.
