I love to read. I have loved reading ever since I was a child. Whether it was for school, work, or for the pure pleasure of being transported to another world, my love of reading lives deep within my soul.
Most recently, I listened to two books by Marcus Sakey – The Two Deaths of Daniel Hayes, and Brilliance.

Both books were great to listen to because the readers were phenomenal. Christopher Lane narrated The Two Deaths of Daniel Hayes, and Luke Daniels narrated Brilliance.
In The Two Deaths of Daniel Hayes, “A man wakes up naked and cold, half-drowned on an abandoned beach…
“The only sign of life for miles is an empty BMW. Inside the expensive car he finds clothes that fit perfectly, shoes for his tattered feet, a Rolex, and an auto registration in the name of Daniel Hayes, resident of Malibu, California.
“None of it is familiar. How did he get here? Who is he? While he searches for answers, the world searches for him—beginning with the cops who kick in the door of his dingy motel with drawn guns. All he remembers is a woman’s face, so he leaves town in search of her in hopes of uncovering his true identity. But that raises the most chilling question of all…

Brilliance, the first book in the “Brilliance Saga”, is a sci-fi novel with great twists and turns. It is said that this book is being made into a movie. I will definitely go to watch it.
Here’s a description of the book. “In Wyoming, a little girl reads people’s darkest secrets by the way they fold their arms. In New York, a man sensing patterns in the stock market racks up $300 billion. In Chicago, a woman can go invisible by being where no one is looking. They’re called “brilliants,” and since 1980, one percent of people have been born this way. Nick Cooper is among them; a federal agent, Cooper has gifts rendering him exceptional at hunting terrorists. His latest target may be the most dangerous man alive, a brilliant drenched in blood and intent on provoking civil war. But to catch him, Cooper will have to violate everything he believes in—and betray his own kind.” (Source: Amazon)
As with most books I either read or listen to, I could envision both of these books as movies, so it thrills me to know that Brilliance is going to be made into a movie. I just hope that the movie is a success and that all of the books in “The Brilliance Saga” will be made into movies.
Have you read any of Marcus Sakey’s books? Which is your favorite? How do you think the movie version of Brilliance will turn out? Who do you think should play the leads? I would love to hear from you!
Happy reading… And have a great day!
