I have been told many times, by many people, to live for the little things in life. There are a million little things that brush against the walls of our life that oftentimes we forget to stop and smell the roses.
My husband and I take motorcycle rides and he has what he calls his “riding playlist”, filled with songs by The Allman Brothers, John Denver, Hugo, just to name a few. We like the freedom it gives us, and it gives me the opportunity to admire the beautiful scenery.
My parents lived in Biloxi and Gulfport (Mississippi), and my mom used to take a drive on Hwy 90 to get a little “beach therapy.” And when I was in high school, and even during breaks while I was in college, we would drive down the highway for some beach therapy. Now I drive down by the river in Oak Ridge for “beach therapy”.
It really is the little things, and being surrounded by your favorite people, that make life worth living. That is what life is about… “That is what it means to be alive.”
Have a great day… And stop and smell the roses, or take a road trip and feel the wind in your hair, or surround yourself with people who love you, and realize that “it is the little things…”
