My grandpa Lashlee passed away early this morning (Sunday, November 4, 2012) and my heart is breaking just a little tonight. He was 88 years old.
I wrote about him once before (which can be read here) when I was rambling about death.
I don’t really have much to say right now. I didn’t post “My Week in Pins” on Saturday and I will not be posting my “Dress Form Outfit” for this week either, or any other post for that matter.
Both my grandfathers have now passed away, coincidentally at the age of 88. So if you have any of your grandparents left, please do me a favor and call them and let them know how much you love them and appreciate them. And if your grandparents have already passed, call your parents, your brothers or sisters, your aunts and uncles or your cousins — let them know how much you care for them and how thankful you are to have them in your life.
Life is precious and even though my family was expecting my grandfather’s death, it’s never really easy to say that final goodbye to someone who has had such an impact on your life. My cousin, Dallas, texted her condolences to me today and I responded that “we have been expecting this for a while now, but it doesn’t make it any easier when if finally happens.”
Death is final and no one, unfortunately, is immune to it’s touch.
Again, I will be taking this week off to grieve, but I will be back on Saturday with a new post.
Have a great and blessed week!
To my Grandpa Lashlee… I Love You More… always have, always will!
